Kids Album Cover Project

There’s been a few instances in my career where I’ve gotten to use my artistic skills in the service of kids. In 2014 Natalie Zuchetti an art teacher from Our Lady of Good Counsel (Karrinyup, WA) brought me in to help teach an afterschool art classes of children aged 7-12.  I decided to teach them how to make album covers  for their own made-up bands.

Over 3 weeks I taught them:

  • How I generate multiple sketches to plan out my finished illustrations.
  • Colour theory (how to choose colours that work).
  • Typography and logo design.
  • How to put it all together and make a finished product.

I helped the kids with all their drawing/colouring problems as they arose.

All artwork presented here is by the children.
